The Caledonian Society of Rome
Dear All,
Another St. Andrew’s Ball has come and gone and we are still here recovering from the excitements, worries and physical tiredness in its organization. It is important to remember that the St. A’s Ball opens our season and is followed in quick succession by our Carol Service and the RBN. So we cannot rest on our laurels and enjoy the Christmas spirit(s) which are hard earned. However before the next event I would like to thank all of you that made this event a success.
Each one of you helped out in all aspects of the event but each had a specific role so I will only mention the specific team leaders but I do know that all helped! A lot of hard work was put into this by Federica who organised the venue, menu, programme, decorations and many other minor but important details. Mary as treasurer was in charge of collecting cash as well as being our dance master in this she was helped by Tony who organized all the logistics for the Ceilidh band as well as getting his own band to perform. I would like to add that the CRPB surpassed themselves this year and had great success. Lucy also helped in entertaining the Ceilidh band as well as organizing the raffle by getting prizes, tickets and drawing the winning tickets. Calum once again was our “techie boy” with his photos being projected on the walls as well as the words to our anthems for the convenience of our guests. Max as always has looked after the flowers and been available for anything asked of him. This year we also had Anne, a non-committee member, helping out by printing and selling tickets as well as collecting money.
It was truly a team effort that made the evening a great success although with some minor blemishes that we need to learn from. RBN is now on us and we need to get the venue then we can think about the band etc. So any ideas or contacts?
Once again thank you all for your hard work which was appreciated by all.
